A program, not a series of lessons
Jumping well is the outcome of everything that happens on the flat. Our training program is written per horse and per rider, and it moves in a deliberate order: rhythm, straightness and adjustability first; gymnastics and grids to sharpen technique and confidence; then related distances, lines and full courses at heights the horse is genuinely ready for.
Each horse in training has a weekly plan that balances jumping days with flat schooling, hacking and rest. The plan is visible to owners in the member portal, so you can see what your horse worked on, what is scheduled next, and how the week changed if weather or soundness required it. Nothing is added to a horse's week without the owner seeing it.

Training rides and horse development
Professional training rides are available for horses that need a consistent, experienced ride between owner sessions — young horses learning their job, horses returning from a layup, or campaigners being kept sharp during a busy season. Trainer rides are requested and approved through the portal, logged with date and rider, and reported back with notes you can actually use in your own riding.
Development work is patient by design. We would rather spend an extra month establishing a rideable canter than move a horse up a height it can only jump on adrenaline. Horses built this way stay sound longer, jump more consistently under pressure, and hold their value.
Rider coaching and position
Riders are coached on position, eye, pace control and the decisions that happen between fences. We use video review, walk-throughs of the course on foot, and repeated exposure to the questions that actually cost faults: bending lines, tight turns, open water, changes of light and unfamiliar footing. Adult amateurs, juniors and professional riders all train in the same program, at their own level.
Competition preparation and show support
Southwest Ranches sits within easy reach of the Wellington and greater South Florida circuit, and our show calendar is planned with each client months ahead. Preparation covers fitness, schooling at height, warm-up routine and a realistic class plan. At the show we handle stabling logistics, warm-up coaching, ring craft and the debrief afterwards, so the rider's only job is riding.
Shipping, entries, day fees and coaching at competition are quoted per event and appear on the same monthly invoice as your other services, with the detail itemised.
